Of names

As an aspiring writer, probably the hardest thing for me to come up with is names. It's not easy for me. I mean, I want my characters to come across as cool. Has anyone noticed the 'cool' characters on t.v. have 'cool' names? It's probably the media that started it but since it's ingrained into the minds of kids, (I myself probably included) I might as well stick to it. Plus I don't want to go against the norm. Cowardly me.... So my characters need cool names......now if I could come up with them. I totally ranted in this post.
